In 2005, in Cholula, Puebla, the foundations were laid for a company that would uplift and empower this sector of the population. Almost 17 years ago, CINIA began its journey toward social and labor integration with 23 young individuals with intellectual disabilities.

CINIA is not a charity—it provides job opportunities, not handouts. The organization does not accept donations; instead, it thrives and progresses based on the products created and manufactured within its walls, explains Fernando Diez Torres, CINIA’s director.

In 2007, CINIA began producing uniforms for Farmacias Similares staff and lab coats for the doctors at Fundación Best.
Today, they manufacture 80,000 scrubs and 50,000 lab coats annually, all made with locally sourced materials.

CINIA offers textile services such as garment design, cutting, and embroidery; gardening, green area maintenance, pruning, and the sale of ornamental plants. It also supports production processes, including assembly and cleaning services.
"There is a structured recruitment and training process, all in accordance with the Federal Labor Law. We are proud to see that 20 of our employees with Down syndrome now own their own homes. Nothing is impossible for those who strive to improve themselves," says Diez Torres.
CINIA employs around 400 people and indirectly impacts over 2,070 more. Today, these employees provide for their families and are part of Mexico’s workforce.
